Québec City, Lévis and the south shore  
 

At the northern extreme of the corridor, the met-ropolitan area of Québec City, including Lévis and a part of the south shore of the St.Lawrence River, is distinguished by its urban populations. Situated along the St.Lawrence River, this region with its population of over 700,000 people, is the cradle of the French language in North America.
